Well I did not know this until I read about BPP College of Professional Studies being given university college status on Legal Week and, as it is a private college, it is the first private university to come into existence in thirty years!
The Guardian elaborate on the significance of the story here. This is quite interesting as I did not know these types of institutions existed, there aren’t that many though.
Maybe if you don’t get a university place and you are rolling in lots of lovely smelly cash, you can just buy into a place at a private university. Although, knowing private institutions I guess it won’t actually be that easy to get into if you don’t know the right people 😉
